Riding to capital, with a weasel on a lasso.

A few days ago the artkids got together for our 10th game session, rough estimate.

We had a 7th player join, which is also the third Tiefling. I honestly see why, back in the 4th edition days every non-goth beginner went for Dragonborn because, choose:

1. just a dude

2.  a dude but with ears that can chop you a salad

3. a dude with weird ears but also horns!

4. a fucking dragon, and yes, they breath fire.

Okay but it's been 10 years and turning everything into a dragon is passe and there's a collective yet unspoken "huh that was a weird phase" but anything demonic is only getting cooler with years. KEEP PLAYING TIEFLINGS! I WANT MY CAMPAIGN WORLD OVERRUN BY HORNED BAD BITCHES

Note: in true beginner fashion, she rolled fucking insane on her ability scores.

During previous sessions, the crew was escorting the royal Lady of their region to the capital. they stopped at a mountain due to a storm, fought off diabolic hyena-men, met red haired dwarves hiding in the mountain, fought the hyena-men again for the dwarves, delved into a dungeon and left to capital Grey at dawn.

We start off with them having traveled for a good while and at a crossroads between the mainstream tall-grass or the old silver road left by the elves but not used because there are tombstones all over the place. they pick the tombstoned path, see a little house, Mina the bard rushes in there hoping to find the first bathroom at her disposal since many weeks. ...Which is where she meets the new companion Eilidh, Hunter of Beasts, Master of Vultures.

Before they manage to figure out each other too much, the sound of many hooves comes from the direction they were heading in. Before long 50 mercenaries led by a tatted, unarmored lady show up. She exchanges conversation with the players who are all striking an anime battle-pose. She introduces herself as Tana Half-Elven, leader of the Hundred Hawks.

Lucas the wizard: how many of them do I count?

Me: about 50.

Lucas the wizard: (to Tana) You seem to be missing 50.

Tana: The rest of us are riding to the battle in the east from a flank position.

Once Tana Half-Elven understands that the party is no threat, she gets on her horse and leaves.

By nighttime the party reaches vast grassy plains where Letheva, the Elven Druid known for her knifeplay, plunges her branch of a staff into the ground and transforms it to a large tree. Each player took a branch as his bed for the night.

In the middle of the night, those who are awake, namingly: Lucas for wizardry purposes and Eilidh because she's among strangers, take notice of goblins dragging a wolf sized weasel.

After immediate bloodshed* the goblins flee save one which has been convinced to stay with the party. Meanwhile, the new Ranger made a lasso and got hold of the giant weasel. It did take a few tries.

(*I should mention how Mina used her flying sword to glide down from the branch she was sleeping on and stab a goblin to death. also Castial the Dwarf literally just jumped down at a goblin and took him out)

before going back to sleep, Nemeia- the second tiefling- felt the urge to write in her grimoire. Once she held the pen to the paper the words flowed by themselves, relaying a message about having met the thieves who stole a child which she must retrieve next time she encounters them.

so now its them, Lady Sygrid and her two guards, a giant weasel and a blue goblin (who has been promised a salary). The terrain becomes scattered with more ruins the further west (and south) they go. Eventually they encounter blue goblins who have taken over a small ruined tower. they also had a catapult manned by 4 miserable goblins and a scary goblin-lady bossing them. The goblins aren't so easy on letting them pass for one reason or another. it ended with the Dwarf catapulting himself at the tower. the crew left once the remaining goblins all barricaded inside the tower. Oh and goblin artillery on a pig airballoon reduced Lucas to half-size with a thrown concoction. Witchy Nemeia blasted the balloon with relentless eldritch blasts until it finally went *poof*. both the Druid and Wizard did drop unconscious during this skirmish with the fortified blue goblins but they made it out.

Eventually, they reached the northern city gates.

Except Mina Soda the bard, none of them lived in or even saw the capital before.

300 XP.
